2021 National Fort Pillow Massacre Wreath Laying Ceremony

June 18 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm CDT

We will be giving honor to the United States Colored Troops, Civilians, and Union Soldiers that died, fought, became Prisoners of War (POW) and were returned back to Slavery.

We invite you to witness history and give tribute to those who fought to end Slavery.  The Fort Pillow Massacre occurred on April 12, 1864.  We will be placing 248 carnations on 109 unknown United States Colored Troops Graves and 138 on Union Soldiers Graves along with presenting wreaths.

We have an all-studded cast and we thank both the Memphis Police and Sheriff Department for standing in the Gap and supporting us as Color Guards, performing the 21-gun salute, and providing the motorcycle escort.  This is indeed community service at its best.
