The Only Black, All-Female Unit to Serve Overseas in World War II Receives the Congressional Gold Medal

Sgt. Hilda P Griggs was a member of the 6888th WWII Army Women’s Postal Battalion. She was born in Delair, NJ, and graduated from Palmyra / Pennsauken HS.

We are commemorating her service with the placement of a wreath at her gravesite in Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Cinnaminson, NJ, at 3 pm on May 18th.

Any representative is welcome to attend. We will have a military color guard perform taps.
