Filmmaker Xavier Frink will discuss his documentary and highlight the work of Henry Highland Garnet, president of the African Civilization Society, and Harvey Johnson of the Brotherhood of Liberty.
About Xavier Frink
Xavier Frink is the Outreach Coordinator for the MD Office of the Attorney General and serves as the acting secretary for the Roland McConnell Branch of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History. He has nonprofit experience and state government experience with the Maryland Department of General Services, the National Council for the Social Studies, and Young Men on Tour. He has volunteered with TV One and Rowman & Littlefield. Mr. Frink received his MA in History at Jackson State University. While at JSU, he created a documentary titled Justice & Reconciliation: Henry Highland Garnet to Harvey Johnson. The official premiere was on Juneteenth weekend in partnership with the African American Department at the Enoch Pratt Central Library and was mentioned in the Baltimore Times, the Baltimore Magazine, and the Baltimore Banner. The film was an official selection of the Micheaux Film Festival, Kwanzaa Film Festival, Utopia Film Festival, and Maupintown Film Festival.
