Kicking off the Malcolm X Day Celebration, the ASALH Edna McKenzie Branch will be hosting a book festival!

This book festival will feature award winning writer, professor, playwright, producer, radio/Podcast Host of Law of the Land, Gloria J. Browne-Marshall speaking on her highly acclaimed book titled: “She Took Justice, The Black Woman, Law and Power, 1619-1969”.

International best  selling author, Anita Russell will present on her book titled: “Cultivating Change from the Inside Out: The Power of Being Human” is a Journey Towards Antiracism Through Personal Transformation, Accountability and Responsibility.

Author and Journalist, Cody McDevitt will present on his book titled: “Banished from Johnstown: Racist Backlash in Pennsylvania”. Cody McDevitt tells the story of one of the worst civil rights injustices in Western Pennsylvania in 1923, in response to the fatal shooting of four policemen.
