ASALH Savannah Yamacraw Branch Second Thursdays Virtual Book Club Schedule

Participate in the live question and answer sessions with authors of featured books hosted by the Telfair Museums of Savannah. The annual theme is The Legacy of Slavery Initiative.

All sessions begin at 6:00PM.

On June 10th, author, Jelani Favors discusses “Shelter in a Time of Storm.” The HBCUs’ empowers leadership and activism for generations.

On July 8th, author, Maurice Hobson discusses “The Black Mecca.” Atlanta has been associated with achievements in education, politics, music and more. The ATL is The Black Mecca.

On August 12th, author, Tina Ansa, discusses “Baby of the Family” a comic view of a girl coming of age when this child can see ghosts of the past and predicts the future too.

Recently, authors from the Dr. Carter G. Woodson Institute have presented during the book club meetings. Listen to their book discussions which are archived at the same website. Authors, Dr. Talitha LeFlouria “Chained in Silence” and Dr. Andrew Kahrl “The Land Was Ours” discuss their books.
