ASALH W. Marvin Dulaney Branch D/FW Event, Black Health and Wellness

February 13 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm CST

“Vegetarianism for Black Health,” There are many prominent Black Vegetarians like Senator Corey Booker from New Jersey, author and journalist Karine Jean -Pierre, Phylicia Rashad, Omar Epps, Angela Bassett, and many more. The African American Museums sells a wonderful book called, “Vegan Soul Food.” Humans are not biologically carnivores as evidenced by our relatively weak stomach acid and our long intestinal tracts, as well as the shape of our teeth. True carnivores have strongly acid stomachs as well as short digestive tracts so that consumed meat that may already have unhealthy, inflammatory products of putrefaction will pass through quickly. Additionally, the antibotics given to farm and dairy animals is given to help promote weight gain, and can have the same effect on consumers. Factory farming is bad for the environment and involves animal cruelty.
