Virtual Meeting. Register via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_ZO6GDwFpSHetk_sJEAxrFg.

This discussion looks at race, voting, the impact of grassroots organizing and the 2020 election.  He also looks at the congressional races in the 2020 elections, municipal and state elections that addressed issues of police accountability and living wage, and how the 2020 election will impact the post-2020 redistricting debates. Finally, Dr. Franklin will discuss the significance of race and racial polarization and how it continues to shape competitive elections. Let’s not let our guard down now.

Dr. Franklin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and President of the National Conference of Black Political Scientists.  His latest book (co-authored with Ray Block) is entitled Losing Power: African Americans and Racial Polarization in Tennessee Politics (University of Georgia Press).
