How did the Great Migration Impact American Society

In collaboration with the Clay County African American Legacy Inc.(Garrison School Cultural Center-Dr. Cecelia Robinson, Historian) and the Greater Kansas City Black History Study Group, Dr. Joshua Hoops’ Culture and Traditions class from William Jewell College will be researching the impact of the Great African American Migration. Specifically they will investigate the question: How did the Great Migration Impact American Society? by examining the five areas of Politics, Civil Rights, and Discrimination; Religion; Education; Housing and Employment; Culture. College and some high school students using rigorously prepared academic guidelines will conduct interviews of people who have migrated to this metropolitan area and write booklets detailing their findings. The booklets will be bound and used at the project presentation.
