Toronto, International Branch Member, Re-connecting the Black Family: Family, Community, Diaspora: A Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Black History Month in Canada
February 13 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST
We invite the human family around the world to join in this celebration of this year’s Black History Theme: ‘THE BLACK FAMILY: Representation, Identity, and Diversity’ bringing meaning and purpose to our existence wherever we are located. Wherever you are in the world – we are family – and look forward to this global exchange to share our histories, challenges and victories.
“The Black Family” is the 2021 theme set by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) and supported by the Black Canadian Network.
In Canada, the celebration builds on the efforts of many including Dr. Daniel G. Hill and the national declaration in Canada was proposed by Rosemary Sadlier in 1995 and effected in co-operation with Jean Augustine then MP.
Speakers from across Canada will provide comments with live Q & A to follow. Links to their projects, books or historic/cultural sites will be provided.
