Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Eugene Robinson will speak about the importance of history and the need to tell the truth about all aspects of the American story. He will draw upon his many years of experience as a political commentator as well as research he has done into his own family’s history, which he describes in a new book entitled Freedom Lost, Freedom Won: A Personal History of America. One theme of the evening will be how far we have come in the struggle against racism and how far we still need to go. After his talk, he will engage in conversation with Rev. William Lamar of Metropolitan AME Church and also take some questions from the audience. Registration is free!
A reception will take place after the event in Frederick Douglass Hall at the church.
