In partnership with the National Park Service, the Center for Civil Rights History and Research at the University of South Carolina is hosting an inaugural conference, “Where Do We Go From Here?”: Interpreting and Preserving the African American Civil Rights Movement. Dates: October 17th – 19th, 2024.
The three-day conference promises a rich and diverse program, delving into the meaning and memory of the African American Civil Rights Movement in historical studies, popular media, and public history interpretation. It will include panel discussions, a poster session, public events, tours, and an abundance of networking opportunities for civil rights history and research practitioners and scholars.
