The Story of Mercy-Douglas Hospital Airing on PBS

The Story of Mercy-Douglass Hospital is about two Philadelphia hospitals founded by African Americans to provide medical care for African Americans is scheduled to air Thurs., Feb. 16th at 7:30 pm and 11 pm on WHYY (channel 12.) The video will also be available on the WHYY website earlier that day.

The Mercy-Douglass Hospital, a product of the merger of two institutions, Mercy Hospital and Fredrick Douglass Memorial Hospital, was the first training school for black nurses in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It operated from 1895-1960.
