Presentation: On Saturday, May 11, 2019 ASALH will visit Negro Mountain, named in honor of nemesis, the African soldier who fought valiantly during the french and Indian War.

ASALH will provide a presentation about the history of negro mountain and honor its adopt-a-highway promise to preserve negro mountain!

Negro mountain spans Somerset, PA and Garrett County, MD and is the highest place on the national road!

Trip details: 

Depart: 9:30am from Dollar Bank @ Miracle Mile, Monroeville
Take the PA turnpike from Monroevile to Somerset exit (note: $8.70 toll)
Take 219 south to 40 west to Negro Mountain
Total miles: 180 (approx 1hour and 55 minutes)
