On Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 5:30 PM, please join the Network to Freedom program at the African Meeting House in Boston, MA for a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the program. A special film premiere of, FIghting for Freedom: Lewis Hayden and the Underground Railroad will be held in honor of the anniversary. This event will bring together Network to Freedom staff and members of the program.
The event is free, but please register. Tickets are limited!
The afternoon of the event from 1:30-3:30 PM, Boston African American National Historic Site staff will be conducting a special tour of the Black Heritage Trail. Please meet at the Robert Gould Shaw Memorial.
The evening will consist of:
- a keynote and book signing by David Blight, whose new biography, Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom, comes out October 2018;
- remarks by Robert Stanton, former director of the National Park Service;
- remarks by Gay Vietzke, regional direction for the Northeast Region of the National Park Service;
- and, light refreshments.
