The Ronald W. Walters Center, in partnership with other Howard University entities and Metropolitan AME Church, is helping to bring forums to the Washington, DC community on issues of interest to the African American community. After a successful forum on School Choice in September, a second forum has been scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 2019, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm with the topic, “Genetic Ancestry Testing: ‘Another Glimpse of the Old World’ and Lessons for the New”.  The forum will be held at Metropolitan AME Church, 1518 M Street, NW, Washington, DC.

  • Are you considering taking a DNA test, but your friends and family are urging you not to do it?
  • What are the risks and benefits of taking the test?
  • Are black people being targeted to get their DNA for nefarious reasons?

Come out to find out everything you want to know about Ancestry from a panel of black experts. Share this message with your friends, family, associates, church members, club members and others.

The forum is free and open to the public with the support of a grant from by the National Endowment for the Humanities. Dr. Dana Williams, interim dean of the Howard University Graduate School, is the project director.
