Louis “Hop” Kendrick, long time civil rights activist and columnist for the New Pittsburgh Courier, will discuss the United Negro Protest Committee in Pittsburgh in the 1960’s and their activities. In addition, Charlene Foggie Barnett, Carnegie Museum of Art, will present digital photographs by the renowned Teenie Harris from their collection related to the the United Negro Protest Committee. Free and open to members and the public, refreshments will be served.
