The Ronald Walters Center is working with several Howard University departments on a project called Bethel 21. Bethel 21 is a project that revives and reimagines the Bethel Literary and Historical Association (BLHA), the preeminent debating society and forum among African Americans during the Reconstruction period that was founded at Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church. Bethel 21 is a sponsoring a series of forums on current issues relevant to the African American community.

The third forum, MLK and the Case for Reparations, will be held on the Rev, Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday, Monday, January 20 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Metropolitan AME Church located at 1518 M Street, N.W., Washington, DC. The speaker, Rev.
