Dr. Edna B. McKenzie Branch of ASALH invites the public to a presentation at the Tuskegee Airmen Memorial in the Sewickley Cemetery, Sewickley PA by Regis Bobonis Jr. and Elaine Effort. If necessary, interested people can meet at the Homewood Carnegie Library, 7101 Hamilton Avenue, Pgh. PA 15208, to carpool to the Tuskegee Airmen Memorial.

The late Regis Bobonis Sr. spearheaded the effort to have the Memorial erected in 2013 and names of Western Pennsylvania Tuskegee Airmen are still being added. Elaine Effort’s father was a Tuskegee Airmen. Hill Jordan, well-known local jazz musician, will end the program by playing Taps on the trombone. After that attendees will go to 424 Walnut Restaurant in Sewickley for lunch, paid by the attendees. Ten tickets have been donated to the Pittsburgh Pirates doubleheader with the Milwaukee Brewers for attendees and it is African American Heritage Day at PNC Park in Pittsburgh.
