The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s AVOICE Virtual Library Project is proud to partner with the African American Civil War Museum to host an evening of engaging research and conversation on the sacrifices of African American soldiers during World War II and beyond. The program will feature a public lecture on the little-known military and social history of African Americans in southern Netherlands, presented by Mieke Kirkels, research fellow at the Social History Center of Limburg (Maastricht University, Netherlands). The evening will then conclude with a roundtable discussion by invited experts about the various ways to honor Black veterans and their families.
