Diverse: Issues In Higher Education recently featured an article on the upcoming ASALH 102nd Annual Meeting and Conference. The event will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio, Sept. 27 to Oct. 1, and will focus on the crucial role of education for African Americans throughout history and the “centuries-old efforts of resistance to this crisis.”

The article included an interview with ASALH President Dr. Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham. “I hope that people come away from this conference knowing how important education is today and that we have to do everything we can to ensure that we educate the masses of our people.”
