The Greater Kansas City Black History Study Group of ASALH is celebrating Juneteenth throughout the month. The Kansas City area marks Juneteenth with parades, festivals, and historic tributes, giving our members a wide variety of options. GKCBHSG Institutional member, the Clay County African American Legacy, Inc., kicked off the month and hosted two days of events on Friday, June 6th, and Saturday, June 7th including an open house and tours of the Garrison School Museum, a dinner and comedy show with nationally renown comedian, Guy Torry, a marker dedication, a parade, and gospel concert. Vendors, food, and numerous activities were available.
