POSITION DETAILS: The interdisciplinary program in Africana Studies, part of Interdisciplinary Critical Studies in the College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time, Non-Tenure, Lecturer position in the Africana Studies Program with a 9 month academic appointment beginning the Fall 2020 semester.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach 4 courses per semester (fall and spring), including two sections of Introduction to Africana Studies, which explores Africa’s foundational relationship to and connections with its diaspora in the USA, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and two additional courses in their specialty areas. The successful candidate will be expected to adhere to core curriculum requirements and other curricular expectations when teaching courses with these designations. This position is predominantly a teaching role, with minimal service and no research expectations.

Applicants should provide evidence of teaching experience and have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Africana Studies or a closely-related discipline (such as African American or Africana literature, history, anthropology, sociology, performance studies, political science, or psychology) by the start of the position, September 1, 2020.
