Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for full-time, non-tenure track faculty positions as Lecturer of History in the Department of History and Philosophy with a preferred start date of August 2025. These are nine-month contracted positions. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department and/or discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Teaching survey courses in the area of World History
- Providing service to the department, college, University, and/or professional community
- Ensuring and gauging student success
- Teaching courses in various modalities, i.e., face-to-face, hybrid, and online
- Teaching load is nine courses per year
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
A Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in History or a related field is required. The degree must be earned by the start date.
Preferred Qualifications include:
- Experience teaching general education courses in World History, with particular focus on Premodern History (before 1500 CE)
- Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
- Record of promoting student success in World History at the collegiate level
