STEPS TO ACCESS YOUR TOKEN FOR THE FIRST TIME

5. Navigate to journals.uchicago.edu/jaah to read any issue of The Journal of African American History while logged in to this account. This account also allows you to track citations, save favorite articles and searches, and sign up for content alerts.

6. After creating your account, all successive logins through the link referenced in Step 1 will lead to a message reading, “Access token has been activated already.” Navigate to journals.uchicago.edu/jaah to begin reading.

You will receive an email message from Jstor to provide the access to these publications. If you do not receive the notification within 30 days please contact membership@asalh.org. In addition, ASALH will send a reminder to retrieve the JStor access email through Constant Contact. The key is sent once, please retrieve the information from JStor and save to access the Bulletin.

ASALH publishes three scholarly journals: the Journal of African American History (formerly the Journal of Negro History) founded in 1916; The Black History Bulletin (formerly the Negro History Bulletin) founded in 1937; and Fire!!!: The Multimedia Journal of Black Studies launching in February 2011. Since 1926, ASALH has published materials in support of Negro History Week, now Black History Month. ASALH also publishes a limited number of books as The ASALH Press.
