Research and publication based on the collections and the interests of the curator, assessing and building collections related to one of the following: science, technology, business, or medicine, creating exhibitions as part of a team, and contributing to public programming.
We are seeking scholars working in the history of medicine, science, business, or technology. Specializations could include but are not limited to: African American history of labor, business, food, technology (including engineering and transportation), sound studies, maritime, agriculture, chemistry, biology, medicine, public health, mathematics, and environmental history. Experience working with material culture or in museums a plus. Ph.D. in history, American studies or related field in hand or completed by August of 2018. This is an entry-level position equivalent to an assistant professor.
Starting salary GS-12 – $81,548 per year, plus benefits
