Under the direction of the executive director of the New Jersey Historical Commission, New Jersey Department of State, plans and is responsible for implementation of research programs, scholarly programs, grant-in-aide programs, conferences, workshops, publications, and other related initiatives of the Commission, particularly related to African American history.
