The National Museum of African American History and Culture’s primary purposes are to acquire, maintain and preserve objects which document social, cultural, political, military, technological and scientific developments in the United States related to the African American experience; to conduct research in the field of African American history, to publish findings for all audiences; and interpret historical developments through public exhibits and programs as well as digital content.

This position is located in the Office of the Director, National Museum of African American History and Culture, and serves as a focal point for assisting the Museum’s Senior Advisor (Chief of Staff). Duties include:

• assisting the Museum Director, Senior Advisor and Council liaison with developing strategic plans for museum partnerships and public engagements
• establishing and maintaining a proficient system for tracking and maintenance of departmental budget, including procurement guidelines, reports and distribution
• developing work products such as background papers, logistical plans, and other appropriate tools in the arrangement of overall support of museum planning and management.
