Dr. Cheryl Renee Gooch announces the February 12 publication of her new book “Hinsonville’s Heroes: Black Civil War Soldiers of Chester County, Pennsylvania” (The History Press), and February author talks and signings. This book features the stories of 18 veterans from the free black community long associated with the Underground Railroad and the founding of Lincoln University, the country’s oldest degree granting historically black university.
