We seek a distinguished American Historian who will split the 2018-2019 academic year between Occidental College and the Huntington Library. In addition to researching the Huntington’s collections, the Billington Professor will teach one intermediate or advanced class per semester in the Occidental History Department, ideally courses that complement existing course offerings. Associate and Full Professors from any college or university (excepting those in the greater Los Angeles area) are invited to apply. The position includes office space at both the Huntington and Occidental, a stipend of between $100,000-$120,000 (depending on rank), and other generous benefits.
