The George B. Delaplaine Jr. School of Business invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the assistant professor rank in marketing to begin in the fall semester of 2022. An evolution of the college’s longest standing department (Economics and Business Administration), the School of Business was named in 2018 after local philanthropist and social entrepreneur, George Delaplaine. The School offers programs at the Bachelors, Master’s and Doctoral levels and is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), the premier accreditor of business schools that focus primarily on teaching and learning.
The assistant professor of marketing will join a dynamic and highly engaged team of faculty and staff in the School of Business, all of whom are dedicated to the professional success of our students. The candidate will be expected to teach courses in marketing and marketing-related subjects and possibly other business courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels (MBA, doctoral). They must also be student-focused and deeply committed to mission of both the School and the College.
In addition to pursuing excellence in teaching, the successful candidate will mentor and advise undergraduate majors in both curricular and professional matters; they may also advise graduate research. Beyond their work with students, the candidate must show initiative in service to the department and the college and must demonstrate a strong commitment to scholarship and its classroom applications.
We seek a candidate with a strong commitment in a liberal arts setting, who is passionate about high-impact learning experiences, and who values diversity, equity and inclusion in all that they do. Candidates must have strong organizational skills and proven ability to work collaboratively across academic disciplines.
Education and/or Experience
Candidates should have a MBA (preferred), and a doctorate in Marketing or in a closely- field from an accredited university. ABD’s will also be considered. Candidates must demonstrate an ability or potential for quality teaching, scholarly research, and service.
