The Dream

The Dream is a sweeping historical novel that explores the bond created by two young boys, one White, the other Black, who meet in first grade in a Brooklyn school during the dynamic years of the Civil Rights Movement, the Cold War, the Space Race, and the tensions created by the war in Vietnam, and assassinations as America grapples with identity, justice and equality.  Nick and Taylor teach us about trust, resilience, and enduring friendship.

Written with emotional depth and historical authenticity, The Dream takes the reader on a journey with two boys from childhood to adulthood, as Martin Luther King Jr. influences the Black boy with his “I Have a Dream” speech.
