The Department of Finance at the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at University of Delaware seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor beginning Fall 2018.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates for Assistant Professor should have a Ph.D. in finance or a related field, or expect to complete a Ph.D. by August 31, 2018, and should demonstrate the potential for outstanding achievement in research and teaching. Successful candidates will demonstrate the drive and vision to develop an innovative, cutting-edge, and internationally recognized research program. Additionally, candidates for Associate Professor must have a distinguished record of scholarship as evidenced by multiple publications in top journals in finance or related fields. Candidates for either position must be committed to excellence in teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Finance currently has 18 full-time faculty members, including 14 tenured or tenure-track professors. The Department offers BS and MS degrees in Finance, and it also supports the Department of Economics’ PhD program, the PhD program in Financial Services Analytics, and the College’s MBA programs. All degree programs are fully accredited by the AACSB.

The Department highly values publications in top journals in finance and related disciplines. Recent research by faculty members has appeared in the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Contemporary Accounting Research, and others. The department provides excellent research support, including an attractive teaching load, a one-semester third-year research sabbatical (for assistant professors), strong database resources, an active seminar and internal workshop series, access to a high-performance computing cluster, and trading laboratory facilities. The Delaware beaches, ranked first in the nation by the NRDC for having the cleanest water quality, are just 1.5 hours away.
