The University of Memphis hosts its 18th annual Graduate Conference in African American History from October 18-20, 2017. The call for papers is available at the following link: http://www.memphis.edu/ history/gaaah/. The deadline to submit proposals is September 1. This year, the Graduate Association of African American History is also encouraging proposals from undergraduates. Faculty members from the University of Memphis and other area institutions serve as session commentators and as judges for the “Memphis State Eight” paper prize. GAAAH will also host a keynote address by Dr. Paula Giddings and a luncheon honoring the winner of the 2016 Book Award given by the Benjamin L. Hooks Institute for Social Change.
