The History Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison has opened a search for an Assistant Professor (tenure track) position in the history of U.S. political economy from the Civil War to the present, with appointment to begin August 2018. The successful candidate will hold the John W. and Jeanne M. Rowe Chair in the History of American Politics, Institutions, and Political Economy. We welcome candidates whose work focuses on United States politics, markets, and institutions, and who seek to integrate the insights of such fields as (for instance) business history, economic history, environmental history, labor history, legal history, and the history of the state.
