Visiting Assistant Professor of History for a one-year, full-time appointment in the history of the Americas post-1600 with specialization in one or more of the following: immigration/migration/diaspora, borderlands, Latinx/Latin American, African American/African diaspora, empire/colonialism, indigenous history, and/or race in the United States. Teaching load is 3-3 and will consist of a mix of existing introductory courses (Global and/or US history surveys) and new or existing upper-level courses in the scholar’s areas of specialization. Potential opportunities to contribute to the programs of Latin American and Latinx Studies, African American Studies, Urban Studies, and/or Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies. The ideal candidate would be adept at engaging and supporting students from a variety of backgrounds and demonstrate a commitment to improving access to higher education for underrepresented groups.
