The Charleston Branch celebrates the 110th anniversary of the founding of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History with the launch of the Charleston Black History and Freedom School. The celebration will include recognition of the Founders, a report on the 110th Annual ASALH Meeting and Conference, and an overview and introduction of the Freedom School curriculum.

The Charleston Black History and Freedom School is supported by a grant from the national office of ASALH, funded by the Mellon Foundation.
