Please join National Capital Parks – East (NACE) for our annual Walk with Woodson event will be held on Saturday, February 21st, 10:00 am – 12 noon at the Mary McLeod Bethune Council House NHS (1318 Vermont Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20005). This is a longstanding D.C. tradition where visitors will literally “walk” with “Dr. Woodson,” creator of Negro History Week (now Black History Month), through the same neighborhoods that inspired him 100 years ago. Actor Dexter Hamlett and NPS Rangers will regal visitors with stories and first-person accounts from the nation’s capital that both Dr. Woodson and Mary McLeod Bethune called home.
