Cobwebs hanging in corners.  Perhaps, the smell is dank and the air around you feels damp and heavy.  Maybe the light is dim and it is difficult to see exactly what is there.  Among a disarray of boxes and things that they tucked away to come back to.  Memories held dear…

Preservation can mean going into closets to retrieve important memories and materials that have been compromised by the passage of time, and often impacted by mold and mildew.

Similar to entering your grandparents’ attic, garage, or storage shed out back, our field archivists, along with radio station staff and campus archivists, wear masks and gloves to carefully collect materials that hold important memories to be saved and preserved.
