SAVE THE DATE: Second Annual Wilson Peace Symposium

April 13, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm EDT

Founded on October 28, 2020, the Karson Institute for Race, Peace & Social Justice provides a scholarly space for professors, students, social justice workers, and activists to come together to research, discuss, debate, and explore answers to America’s most urgent questions on inequality, injustice, and racial inequity. Located on the campus of Loyola University Maryland, the Institute, founded and led by Dr. Karsonya Wise Whitehead, has become known as the central spaces to house the research, train students, and operationalize the movement for racial and social justice. We tell the stories and capture the stories of this moment. As an institution, Loyola has long been committed to addressing these difficult questions and providing opportunities to implement solutions.

As we move towards hosting our Second Annual Curtis J. Wilson Jr. Peace Symposium, we want to invite you to join us. We will spotlight the production work of Baltimore City high school students who have spent the last year participating in our Backpack Journalism program and we will facilitate a larger conversation about the Fierce Urgency of Now. We also want to invite you to join us after the Symposium for a Closing Reception and hear a bit more about what Director Whitehead has been doing on campus, in the city, and around the country. The Wilson Peace Symposium will be held on April 13, 2023, from 9a-3p on the campus of Loyola University Maryland. Please Save the Date and plan to join us!
