Why Register?

The ASALH Black History Month Luncheon provides an exceptional opportunity to connect with community builders, historians, educators, and students in Washington, DC. It’s a chance for authors to gain visibility among a culturally responsive audience and network with potential customers. Additionally, authors and their presses can purchase ads in the Virtual Festival Souvenir Journal.

Registration Details

Eligibility: Registration is open to 2025 members only.

Deadline:
Please register by January 15, 2025, as space is limited.

Registration Fee: $75

Includes: Half of an eight-foot table, the opportunity to display promotional materials, sell books onsite, and listing on the ASALH Bookshelf webpage along with promotional materials.

Required for Application

1. A 2025 ASALH membership and a processing fee of $75 which can be processed in one transaction.

2. A signed copy of the book intended for sale or a digital version, which is preferred.

3. Upload the book cover and your photo for promotional use at asalh.org/bookshelf.

More About Registering for the Author’s Book Signing

We invite you to participate in the Author’s Book Signing at the 2024 Black History Festival Luncheon on February 22, 2025. There is a $75 registration fee

The Author’s Book registration includes:

    • One-half of an eight-foot table.
    • Opportunity to bring a low profile promotional display and distribute information about your book(s).
    • Opportunity to sell your book(s) onsite.
    • Authors and their books will be listed on the ASALH Bookshelf webpage.
    • Authors and their books will be featured on the festival website, social media, and other promotional materials.

Registration info:

Individuals who register will be considered for one of the limited spaces for authors to sign and sell their titles during the luncheon. Authors will be positioned in the luncheon ballroom. As a result, all authors must agree to purchase a ticket to the luncheon. Early-bird pricing for luncheon tickets is available through December 31, 2024. Tickets on sale soon.

Registration Deadline for payment and receipt of book is January 15, 2024.

  1. Login to ASALH online.
  2. Go to the Registration page for the Author’s event.
  3. Then register for the author’s event. (Authors must register to participate)
  4. Purchase a ticket for the Luncheon event.
  5. Registration and tickets are non-refundable.
  6. For this limited space event, you will be notified by January 24, if you have been selected to participate or not. If you aren’t selected, your registration fee will be refunded within 30 days of notification. If you have purchased a ticket for the luncheon, the luncheon fee is non-refundable.

COMPLETED APPLICATIONS REQUIRE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:

1. Paid luncheon ticket ($150 minimum) and paid additional processing fee of $75.
2. A signed copy of the book intended for sale at the Author’s Book Signing Signing (digital version preferred)
3. Upload (asalh.org/bookshelf) the cover of your book and your photo to be included in promotions on the website, social media, and ASALH TV (Our Youtube Channel).
4. All steps must be completed in order for your application to be processed.
