Frazine K. Taylor

The Alabama Historical Association mourns the loss of our 72nd President, Frazine K. Taylor. Taylor was a nationally recognized genealogist and the author of Researching African American Genealogy in Alabama: A Resource Guide. She was a long-time member of the reference staff at the Alabama Department of Archives and History, and most recently worked at the Levi Watkins Learning Center at Alabama State University. In 2022, she received the prestigious Dorothy Porter Wesley Award from the Association for the Study of African American Life and History for her contributions to the field.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11 AM in Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Canaan MBC in Wetumpka, AL.
