Business Meeting:
October 30th at 7:30 p.m. EST/6:30 CST/5:30 p.m. MST/ 4:30 p.m. PST.

The membership will hold a business meeting on October 30th at 7:30 p.m. EST/6:30 CST/5:30 p.m. MST/ 4:30 p.m. PST. The purpose is to clarify two issues in dispute from the Annual Business Meeting held on September 18th. ASALH has prioritized this matter above all other activities.

The membership mandated ASALH present recommendations from an attorney on two issues in dispute. The membership will vote to accept or reject the Attorney’s recommendations on the two issues below:

1. Does our Constitution and By-Laws or Robert’s Rules of Order allow an officer to rescind a resignation if the Executive Council has not officially accepted it?

2. Does our Constitution and By-Laws or Robert’s Rules of Order grant the Executive Council the power to remove candidates whom the Nominating Committee has certified as being “a member in good standing,” thus eligible to stand for election to the Executive Council?

To participate in the business meeting:

• You must own at least a free Basic ZOOM account. You will need an account to register for the meeting. Only confirmed ASALH members will be able to participate and those with a sign-in ZOOM account. This step provides an extra layer of protection and assures that ASALH members ONLY are participating, and it helps us to see the names of participants. • If you elect to CALL into the meeting, ZOOM does not allow for the option to vote, participate in polls (the form of voting) or Q&A.

• You must register for the meeting by noon (EST), Monday, October 30th. The registration form will require you to enter an email address and your membership ID number which will be emailed to you, to receive the Zoom link, please provide the email address that you will use to access the Members Business meeting.
