ProVoice/ProVoz held their first Holiday Awards event in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area. How appropriate that ASALH life member and founder of the Van McCoy Branch was honored on Woodson’s birthday. Mrs. Taylor was the first Black woman police officer in DC and has been a community advocate in the DMV for over 40 years. The event featured a conversation with Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton and Ambassador Suzan Johnson Cook on her career and advise to other women on how to make a difference in politics.
