ASALH mourns the passing of Congressman Elijah Cummings. We have lost one of our heroes. History books will tell of his leadership, his courage, and his tireless commitment to the ideals of freedom and justice for all in America. And we, as African Americans, will always remember him with proud admiration for his contributions to his people and the model of manhood that he represented.
