ASALH mourns the passing of Margaret M. Miles. Mrs. Miles was the long-time Park Ranger at the Mary McLeod Bethune Council House National Historic Site. She was also a great friend and supporter of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, Inc., and the Washington Metropolitan Area Bethune-Cookman University Alumni Association, for more than twenty years. Her warm and nurturing spirit, passion for Mary McLeod Bethune, kindness, commitment, service, and dedication served as an inspiration to all who knew and loved her, and she will be deeply missed.
