Glasgow and Black Resistance

February 14, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST

Glasgow has historically been a site of Black activism and resistance. From speeches by Black abolitionists and civil rights activists such as Frederick Douglass and Sarah Remond, to the establishment of abolitionist societies across the city and to the foundation of a trailblazing Black run football (soccer) club. Join CRER (BHM Scotland) for a talk that explores the histories and legacies of Black resistance in Glasgow.

(Organised as part of the ASALH international committee)
