Dr. Kendra Boyd from Rutgers University to give the annual Dr. Carter G. Woodson Lecture about black entrepreneurship in Detroit during the Great Migration and afterwards.
The Charleston Area Branch ASALH celebrates the 147th birthday of Dr Carter G. Woodson, " the Father of Black History".The celebration will include tributes to the life and legacy of Dr. Woodson, Charleston Remembrance Committee Recognition and a panel discussion entitled " Black Health, Wellness and Resistance - Remembering the 1969 Hospital Strike".
