The ASALH Black History Month Festival provides your organization with an opportunity to reach a targeted audience of approximately 1,000 community builders, historians, educators, business professionals and students globally. The Author’s Book Talk event at the 2023 Black History Month Festival will be available on-demand throughout February 2023 by individuals who are enthusiastic about the history of America and the African diaspora.

More About Registering for the Author’s Book Talk Event

We invite you to participate in the Author’s Book Talk Event at the 2023 Black History Festival, all month long during February. There is a $60 registration fee and participants MUST be a member of ASALH. 

The Author’s Book Talk registration includes:

  • 15 minute digital Author’s Book Talk 

  • Author’s Book Talk replay available on-demand on ASALH TV, the Association’s YouTube channel for three months

  • Author’s Book Talk participants will be included in email marketing and social media promotions 

  • Name, logo and link to discount code featured on the ASALH Bookshelf

As an ASALH Festival supporter

  • Gain more visibility among a culturally responsive targeted audience

  • Provide information on your publications, programs or services to attendees who are likely to need resources for their future studies in Black history

  • Build a strong network of potential customers as well as other professionals in your industry

Register early to secure your digital space at the Author’s Book Talk Event.  Upon registration, you secure the next available Festival date to present your book. Those dates include each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday February 1-28, 2023. Author’s must be a member of ASALH with current membership. Ship a signed copy of the intended book(s) for sale at the Author’s Book Talk Event to ASALH national headquarters. All steps must be completed before your registration can be processed.  Author’s Book Talk Event will be listed on the ASALH Bookshelf webpage. 

About the Author’s Book Talk Event Virtual Presentation

The Author’s Book Talk Event will feature one author for a 15 minute virtual presentation during the Black History Festival. Authors can promote media, services, and programs to the festival attendees. Your recorded 15 minute digital book talk will be available on-demand on ASALH TV, the Association’s premier YouTube channel.

2. A completed Online Registration Form
3. Paid membership fee and paid additional processing fee of $60 are non-refundable.
4. A signed copy of the intended book(s) for sale at the Author’s Book Talk event
5. All steps must be completed in order for your application to be processed.
