Kenny better known as Kokayi earned his BA in African American Studies at Georgia State University where he met his mentor and friend Akinyele Umoja. He continued his education there receiving his first Masters in History. Kokayi worked with young people in the TRIO program in his adoptive home of Atlanta where he poured into these young people a sense of pride and hope. He attended ASALH wearing his bright colors with matching hat and most likely with a camera in hand ready to capture some candid shots. He is survived by his two children—Kenneth Stallings, III and Eve Stallings, his mom Miriam Stallings, his sister Kendra Stallings-Young (all picture with him) and his brother John Stewart.
