
National Capital Parks—East is hiring SEVEN (7) seasonal WG-4749-5 Maintenance Workers. These positions will be located at various parks within NACE (both DC and MD locations) and are a great opportunity for those seeking a challenging and dynamic work environment where they can serve as part of a team dedicated to the care of our important local national parks.
Position: Maintenance Worker (WG-4749-05)
Location(s): Greenbelt Park, Ft. Dupont Park, Fort Washington Park, Oxon Hill Farm.
Department: National Capital Parks – East
Salary: starting at $24.25 -$28.29 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs simple and routine maintenance of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, trails, equipment, and related facilities.
- Performs simple carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
- Safely operates various groundskeeping equipment, including mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, pole saws, and hand tools.
- Picks up trash, refuse, and clears dumping sites as needed.
- Performs routine farm maintenance chores, including animal feeding, manure removal, etc., as needed (OXHI farm site only).
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with groundskeeping equipment and tools
- Basic skills in carpentry, painting, plumbing, or related trades
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
